Job Details

Boutique government affairs firm seeks Associate for faced paced team serving a diverse range of clients with policy issues including defense/intel, biotech, law enforcement/public safety, education, transportation, among other issues. 

About the Job:

  • Work directly with senior partner who has over 20 years of experience in lobbying
  • Help develop strategy for clients
  • Conduct research and analyze various policy issues
  • Draft memos, white papers, backgrounders, letters, press releases, op eds and other documents for internal and external use
  • Circulate daily press clips on topics of interest to clients  
  • Coordinate weekly calls and draft weekly memos for clients on issues of importance
  • Pitch in on administrative tasks and special projects as needed in small office that is full service to our clients

About You:

  • Legislative experience—you have prior involvement in legislative work; this is preferred but not required   
  • Law degree helpful, not necessary—you will work with firm owner/partner to understand client needs and processes
  • Meticulous/organized—you have any eye for details and nothing falls through the cracks
  • Exceptional writer—you are an excellent writer with equally strong research skills
  • Hard worker—you are ready to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Problem solver—you can find a solution to any problem with little supervision and can think strategically and grasp complex problems
  • Multi-tasker—you can juggle multiple projects and issues simultaneously
  • Adaptable/works well under pressure—you rise during stressful situations
  • Loyal—you are discreet and dependable
  • Funny—you have a good sense of humor
