AEI is seeking a self-starting team player for a busy media relations and marketing department. The media relations coordinator will work directly with the executive director of media relations and strategic marketing to execute a media strategy to promote AEI scholars and their work. Responsibilities include overseeing the scheduling and operations of AEI’s broadcast facilities (TV and radio), serving as the primary media liaison for conferences and special events, maintaining a database of media contacts and email distribution lists, supervising the department’s interns, assisting with administrative tasks, and fielding interview requests as needed.

This position requires excellent attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must have a keen interest in policy and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a frequently busy and demanding environment. Prior experience with event planning and customer relations management and one year of related work experience is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in economics, journalism, government, English, or a related field is required.

We offer a stimulating and harmonious work environment and excellent benefits. Qualified applicants should submit an online application to www.aei.org/jobs, complete with a resume, a cover letter, transcripts, and a 500-word writing sample on any topic.

About AEI

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a public policy think tank dedicated to defending human dignity, expanding human potential, and building a freer and safer world. The work of its scholars and staff advances ideas rooted in a belief in democracy, free enterprise, American strength and global leadership, solidarity with those at the periphery of our society, and a pluralistic, entrepreneurial culture.

AEI is committed to making the intellectual, moral, and practical case for expanding freedom, increasing individual opportunity, and strengthening the free enterprise system in America and around the world. Its work explores ideas that further these goals, and AEI scholars take part in this pursuit with academic freedom. AEI operates independently of any political party and has no institutional positions. Its scholars’ conclusions are fueled by rigorous, data-driven research and broad-ranging evidence.
