KPMG is currently seeking a Counsel, KPMG Americas to join our Americas Compliance organization.


Responsibilities:


+ Serve as Counsel to KPMG Americas with respect to compliance matters

+ Develop policies, trainings, communications, and processes to enhance compliance with laws and regulations throughout the Americas region, which includes Central and South America as well as the United States

+ Consult on issues pertaining to compliance with laws and regulations in areas such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Insider Trading, Antitrust, and Lobbying

+ Assess existing mechanisms for compliance with laws and regulations

+ Develop and implement strategies to enhance such compliance, in collaboration with other resources within the U.S. firm and in other KPMG member firms

+ Consult on internal investigations of significant matters, and assist in preparing reports on those matters for leadership


Qualifications:


+ Minimum eleven years of legal experience handling Compliance issues, complex litigation matters, and/or internal investigations in a leading law firm or large corporate environment, or comparable federal government experience

+ Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university

+ Excellent writing and editing skills

+ Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred

+ Experience in Latin America is preferred with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals in KPMG member firms in the region
