Job Details

The American Enterprise Institute seeks a well-rounded digital marketer to lead our Digital Strategy team. Success in this role requires not only expertise in the essentials of modern communications — email marketing, web analytics, customer insight, data analysis, CRM integration, digital advertising, website management, search engine optimization (SEO), and content strategy — but also top-notch project management and a robust strategic vision for targeted marketing at a policy-focused organization in Washington, DC.

 

The director will report to the vice president for Communications and Government Relations and work closely with the vice president in creating digital marketing strategies and processes to publicize the work of AEI’s scholars across AEI’s three main departments: Economics, Foreign and Defense Policy, and Domestic Policy. The director will have up to five direct reports and will work collaboratively with teams across information technology, web development, and other communications departments.

 

As a nonprofit organization structured much like a university, AEI doesn’t take institutional positions on public policy. The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with current public policy debates to contextualize the development and execution of comprehensive digital strategy for promotion of AEI’s scholars’ work to targeted audiences. A successful candidate will also push AEI forward in the use of customer insight and audience targeting tools and data.
