The American Public Gas Association (APGA) seeks an energetic, detail-oriented person to serve as a Director of Government Affairs. APGA's office is located on Capitol Hill. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President.

Requirements

Responsibilities include: representing the association’s interests before Congress and federal agencies; activating and involving association members on advocacy efforts; preparing comments in response to regulatory rulemakings; and seeking opportunities to advance association goals by meeting with congressional staff and other policymakers. Issues that will be handled by this position include building codes and standards, appliance efficiency standards/rulemakings, and other issues related to the direct use of natural gas. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills are essential. Experience in energy issues a plus.
