Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville, national health law firm, is seeking a Health Policy Manager to conduct regulatory and legislative research and analysis, draft summaries and comment letters according to client interests, and advise on the development of policy positions and advocacy strategy for national healthcare, rehabilitation and disability clients and coalitions.

 

In conjunction with the Legislative Practice Group (“LPG”) and managing attorneys, the Manager of Health Policy will serve as a policy analyst and advocate for client organizations, which are primarily health care provider and consumer associations with a wide range of issue areas, including but not limited to, post-acute care and disability; Medicare and Medicaid coverage and reimbursement issues; the Affordable Care Act (Exchanges, Essential Health Benefits, Delivery Reform); health information technology; medical devices and assistive technologies; and behavioral and mental health. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in health policy with content expertise in post-acute care and disability; Medicare and Medicaid coverage and reimbursement issues; the Affordable Care Act (Exchanges, Essential Health Benefits, Delivery Reform); health information technology; medical devices and assistive technologies; and behavioral and mental health, along with leadership experience involving coalitions at the national level.  The candidate should also have experience advocating on Capitol Hill and to federal regulatory agencies.

 

Applicants must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree and solid research, writing, and public speaking skills. Advanced degrees in health policy, public health, public policy, or law are highly desired but not required. Experience in working with clients and/or staffing coalitions is a plus.
