HII Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc\. \(HII\-MDIS\) provides mission\-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide\.



HII \- MDIS is currently seeking a Modeling & Simulation \(M&S\) Weather Field Support Advisor for work in Washington D\.C\.



**Duties and Responsibilities** \(to include but not be limited to the following\):



+ Provide M&S LVC support to Simulation and Analysis Facility \(SIMAF\), coordinate with Air Force Warfighting Integrating Capability \(AFWIC\) and HAF/A9 on future requirements for JADC2, ABMS and the Sensing Grid\.

+ Integrate with SIMAF, AFRL, AFWIC, HAF/A9 and other DoD/government/academic/commercial partners to ensure system and data interoperability within the M&S and Live, Virtual, and Constructive \(LVC\) communities, as well as within the JADC2 Sensing Grid and ABMS\.

+ Document shortfalls of weather data, products, and services within the M&S and LVC communities as well as shortfalls within the JADC2 Sensing Grid and ABMS\.

+ Engage with key stakeholders in the requirements process to document shortfalls\.

+ Report to HAF/A3WX for accountability\.

+ Travel to Wright\-Patterson AFB, OH \(approx\. 1\-2 trips a month\), with additional travel to other locations, as needed\.



**Qualifications and Experience:**



**Required \-**



+ Bachelors degree with 9\+ years of experience, or HS diploma with 13\+ years of experience working directly in the atmospheric sciences field, with associated experiences in numerical weather/climate prediction, experience in modern weather data production and dissemination processes\. Masters degree or above can be used towards years of experience\.

+ Working knowledge of the following:



- Meteorology/atmospheric sciences, to include atmospheric dynamics and thermodynamics; weather system analysis and prediction; physical meteorology; and remote sensing of the atmosphere

- Physics

- Ordinary differential equations

+ Familiarity with three or more of the following: Physical hydrology, statistics, chemistry, physical oceanography, physical climatology, radiative transfer, aeronomy, advanced electricity and magnetism, light and optics, or computer science

+ Must possess strategic and senior leader level collaboration and technical communication skills, to include ability to use Microsoft Office products \(MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel\)\. Familiarity with M&S programs desired\.

+ Clearance: Must posses and maintain minimum of an active Secret Clearance



**Preferred \-**



+ GS\-1340 Meteorologist Series Qualified with advanced degree\(s\) in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Programming, Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Climatology, Numerical Weather Predication/Data Assimilation, Physics, and/or Mathematics\.

+ Working knowledge of the operational practices of the M&S LVC Community to support Testing & Training

+ Experience with campaign\-level analysis, experience with integration of mission simulators with large\-scale models, and/or physics based modeling of systems



**Security:**



+ Must posses and maintain a minimum of an Active Secret clearance; Top Secret \(TS\)/SCI with SAP preferred
