Summary:

 

AIPAC’s Progressive Engagement Initiative is a cross-platform effort involving stakeholders throughout the organization. AIPAC is seeking a motivated, creative and resourceful individual to join this dynamic and innovative team. From program and message development -- to political research and creative communications -- the Program Associate will serve as a liaison to, and collaborate with, the Initiative’s stakeholders on a wide range of projects. This individual will report to the National Director for Progressive Engagement.  

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides high level support in conducting day to day office administration  
  • Contributes to the development, planning and implementation of the department’s programming, including during AIPAC’s annual Policy Conference and other events throughout the years; coordinates necessary logistics.
  • Drafts, develops and initiates content for Progressive Engagement communications (newsletters and other materials) for AIPAC staff and lay leaders
  • Drafts and compiles content for speeches, talking points and presentations; Develops power point and other presentations
  • Conducts research on political trends in the Jewish and Democratic political communities
  • Represents Progressive Engagement at Leadership Development (AIPAC’s student program) conferences and other activities, including serving as a speaker, as appropriate
  • Tracks media on all platforms and crafts messages for distribution to appropriate audiences
  • Assists in the identification of AIEF trip prospects, manages AIEF trip recruitment and serves as liaison to trip participants prior to travel
  • Coordinates projects and responsibilities for the Department’s summer interns

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Passion for Israel and a strong U.S.-Israel relationship a must
  • Knowledge of, or engagement in, the progressive community in the United States
  • Knowledge of, or involvement in, Democratic politics
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other digital messaging tools
  • Bachelor’s degree required, or commensurate experience
  • 1-2 year’s work experience in political campaigns, communications or public affairs is desirable
