We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic individuals who will thrive in a hyper growth environment as we strive to deliver on our purpose of sustainable prosperity for everyone.

We are growing our team who are driven to make a measurable difference to the economic performance of the markets we participate in; who relentlessly pursue discovery of the new; those who are activated by the meritocracy of ideas in an organisation with localized decision-making and ownership of outcomes.

Faraday is not for people who are daunted by uncertainty or who wish to design by precedent.

Join us

We are looking for a regulatory affairs advisor to be based in our Washington, D.C., office on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Vice President, North America Regulatory Affairs, you will be responsible for monitoring and advising on federal and specified state regulatory developments impacting the electricity industry; interacting with electric industry stakeholders and allied organizations, specifically serving as a principal interface with the primary U.S. electric reliability body; engaging with certain regional reliability organizations and grid operators, as necessary, and expanding general policymaker/stakeholder awareness of the Faraday Grid, its vision and technology innovation offerings.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Engaging with federal and state policymakers, as well as with other industry stakeholders and advocates, to advance policies that further empower electricity consumers and “prosumers.”
  • Taking ownership of policy relationships at the North America Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC), certain regional grid operators, and state policymakers within those regional footprints.
  • Exploring new ways to engage and educate policy stakeholders about the challenges of, and responses to, an electricity grid that is rapidly becoming less fit for purpose.
  • Identifying opportunities to advance the policy and commercial relationship interests of the Faraday Grid.
  • Developing and successfully delivering agreed-upon performance metrics.
  • Establishing personal and Faraday Grid credibility and trust among target government and industry audiences and stakeholders.
  • Partnering where appropriate with electric utility, renewable developer and distributed energy and grid technology counterparts within the assigned region.

You’ll thrive if you

  • Love the energy, intensity and excitement of a hyper fast-growing company in a sector undergoing significant transition.
  • Demonstrate reliability, transparency, open-mindedness, aspiration and rigour.
  • Are able to be a team player while leading through communication and influence.
  • Have a working knowledge of the electricity industry, electric grid reliability and resilience, organized markets and state-by-state utility regulation.
  • Are passionate and curious about market economics and technology responses and innovations.
  • Have a proven track record of building/maintaining policy and regulatory relationships in the energy sector, preferably with some specific experience in the electricity sector.

Careers at Faraday

You will be joining a diverse group of brilliant minds who will challenge you intellectually and encourage you to prosper. In addition to a competitive salary, depending upon skills and experience, we also offer:

  • Generous vacation allowance to give you time to refresh
  • Private medical insurance to keep you healthy
  • Life insurance for peace of mind
  • Retirement plan contributions so you can save for the future

We are proud of our diversity and committed to ensuring our opportunities are accessible to all talented people. If additional support or flexible arrangements would enable you to participate, please tell us in your application.
