Risk Manager, Consumer Bank Marketing

Seeking a Risk Manager to support Capital Ones Consumer Bank Marketing organization. Risk Managers at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable. They are intellectually curious and highly motivated professionals with excellent communication, problem solving, influencing, and organizational skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate existing, potential and emerging risks to the Company.

Responsibilities


As a Risk Manager, you will:

  • Advise and consult with self-directed teams to help develop well-designed initiatives, practices, and processes

  • Perform, communicate, and drive action on proactive risk analysis and mitigation recommendations to address potential and emerging risks, gaps or breakdowns in Consumer Bank Marketing

  • Build deep understanding of marketing, digital, and the use of data to provide risk guidance that is forward looking, encompasses customer and associate experience, and protects Capital One

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with leadership, lane leads, pod owners, analysts, process managers, Compliance, Legal , Audit, and other Risk Managers

  • Leverage process understanding to assess risk exposure and implement enhancements to processes and controls

  • Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines

  • Coordinate work between multiple areas and engage in multiple work streams, simultaneously; leveraging/influencing business partners to drive results

  • Effectively work in non-linear space and bring structure to deliver on our well-managed agenda

  • Support second line of defense assurance reviews, internal audits, and regulatory exams

  • Create and disseminate senior level reporting and metrics related to the risk environment for Marketing

  • Partner with Marketing to research and resolve risk events stemming from process breakdowns and provide overall solutions to ensure breakdowns do not reoccur

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 year of Product Management experience

  • At least 2 year of Risk Management experience

  • At least 2 year of Financial Services experience

  • At least 2 year of Technology experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Marketing or Digital experience

  • Business Process Management, Lean or Green Belt Certification

  • 5+ years of Risk Management experience

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience

  • 5+ years of Financial Services experience

  • 5+ years of Technology experience

  • Professional certification (i.e. CFE, CRM, CIA, etc.)
