**A Day in the Life**

The Sales Engineer (SE) is a technical professional position within the Respiratory Monitoring Solutions division. This position will be the technical subject matter expert in the field on the Vital Sync platform, applications (incl. Zephyr) and connectivity for pre-sale and post-sale activities. A high level of familiarity and confidence with the IT environments in the acute care setting where Vital Sync will operate is essential. Must have the ability to engage with prospective IT customers and represent the technical aspects of Vital Sync to assist the sales team to advance sales opportunities. The SE will also lead on-site VS deployments at customer sites and be responsible for outcomes. The position reports to VP Sales of RMS HIM team and is part of a team responsible for overall Vital Sync technical needs.

The Sales Engineer is a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication, presentation, and troubleshooting skills who is adept at navigating high pressure situations. He/she has a strong background in IT sales, consulting and deployment. He/she is expected to be able to interface intelligently and effectively with members of the user community in the business areas that he/she supports. Business and systems analytical skills must be developed at this level. Customer facing role with good empathy with difficult customer issues, as well as the ability to navigate challenging social, territorial and organizational situations in hospital environments and throughout the sales organization.

+ Support sales ofsolutions in a hospital clinical setting and effectively communicate withphysicians, clinicians and IT professionals

+ Promote Vital Syncsolutions in a presales capacity with IT, clinical and business prospects inpartnership with aligned field sales team

+ Conduct pre-salestechnical consultation with prospective customers to ensure comprehensiveunderstanding of IT infrastructure and provide IT scoping and proposals back tosales and professional services teams

+ Troubleshoot network andWiFi connectivity issues using personal knowledge and industry tools

+ Assist with trainingclinicians, IT professionals and Biomedical Engineering staff at customer siteon technical features/functions as appropriate

+ Operate as team playerwith the ability to lead and/or take direction from others as appropriatewithin the sales and professional services teams

+ Conduct proficientwritten and verbal communications across all relationships and coordinatecomplex sales activities among multiple stakeholders

+ Serve as technicalliaison from presale through implementation to ensure technical continuity forcustomer throughout process

**Must Haves: MinimumRequirements:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in I/Tor Engineering field (computer science, information systems, etc.) or Businessrelated.

+ Minimum of 5 years as anI/T professional in this role or related roles, with emphasis on interactingwith customers and deploying technology in a customer environment, with astrong preference for hospital experience.

Skills/Competencies:

+ Technical proficiency -has extensive working experience with required technologies and can handleadvanced, complex tasks; typically, has over 3 years of experience withrequired technologies

+ Analytical abilities –has advanced problem-solving skills including very difficult and time-sensitiveproblems where erroneous decisions could have a significant adverse impact on dailyoperations

+ Project management – Canmanage intermediate projects effectively requiring coordination with usersIT personnel across multiple teams

+ Independence – Needsonly general direction to perform job duties

+ Communication skills –Strong verbal written skills. Communications are complete andunderstandable with appropriate tone and delivery.

+ Quality - Makes gooddecisions designs solid solutions based upon a mixture of analysis,wisdom, experience judgment. Can accurately estimate time, resources andcosts for assigned projects.

+ Demonstrated ability todeeply understand and troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivityissues, and have demonstrated experience in LAN and WLAN networking
