Senior Director, State Affairs
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:
The Alzheimers Association seeks a collaborative, proactive, self-starter who is passionate about our mission and vision of A World Without Alzheimer's. Key success factors for this role include strong interpersonal skills and extensive knowledge of the workings of state governments. The successful candidate will be independent, adaptable, able to reprioritize and shift gears quickly and be comfortable in a high-pressure environment. Eloquent yet succinct communication and public speaking skills are essential. In addition, s/he must possess an exceptional capacity to network and build coalition support, impeccable attention to detail, as well as the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic and collegial setting.
This position will require frequent travel (mostly domestic). Must possess valid driver's license and good driving record.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in health policy or public health preferred
- Ten years working in a health focused non-profit in state government affairs or similar experience.
- Strong background in health policy, health legislation, and other regulatory and political issues
