For this role preferred location is Warsaw, Poland, but other CEE locations of MDT will also be
considered (Bratislava / Prague/ Budapest / Bucharest / Zagreb / Belgrade).


**A Day in the Life**


In this role your main
responsibility will be to lead the Communications function and programs for
Medtronics operations in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).


Functionally reporting
to the Vice-President PR Communications, EMEA, and operationally
reporting to the Vice-President of CEE, the jobholder will design and execute
an integrated communications strategy for Medtronic in CEE region,
incorporating best practices in media and public relations, employee
communications, digital and social media and marketing communications. The
leader will build and execute plans in conjunction with their team and key
internal and external stakeholders, including Medtronic business units,
functions and regional colleagues.


**Keyresponsibilities of the role:**


Functional Management:


+ Leadscommunications for Medtronic in CEE, providing strategic counsel, functionalmanagement and campaign delivery that engages and builds advocacy with relevantstakeholders across communications channels: internal and external, traditionaland social.

+ Leadsa team of two direct reports, including a Principal Comms Generalist for Poland/Baltics/Belarus/Ukraineand a Comms Generalist for Czech Republic/Slovakia.

+ Togetherwith reports, the individual will partner with the business to build andexecute a communications plan that prioritizes communications efforts andactivities against the business and regions top priorities.

+ Ensuresthat all compliance and ethical standards are fulfilled by the Communicationsfunction. Proactively engages with aligned functions to ensure an integratedapproach to representing the Medtronic brand across relevant channels.Integrates plans and activity with government affairs, human resources,finance, legal and regulatory affairs as appropriate.


Public / Media Relations:


+ Identifiesand engages with external key opinion leaders to become advocates forMedtronics Mission, therapies and business strategy.

+ Whereappropriate and in conjunction with EMEA leadership and agency partners, actsas a company spokesperson to the regions news media.

+ Monitorskey influencers and stakeholders in the public domain and works with businessunits and regional leadership to support and/or lead stakeholder engagementefforts.


Internal Communications:


+ Plansand executes a proactive employee engagement and communications strategy focuson aligning and educating employees about the region and business strategicpriorities and programs.

+ Partnerswith Human Resources, leadership and other functions to ensure regionalemployees are informed and aware of key Medtronic initiatives and requirements.

+ Operatesthe internal communications strategy utilizing company approved platforms,tools, channels and approaches as defined by the GCCM function globally.


Digital and Social Media:


+ Works in partnership with the EMEA and language-focused digital teams todrive campaigns across digital and social media channels.

+ Defines a social media approach for CEE that is aligned with EMEA socialmedia strategy and company policies.

+ Drives advocacy by actively engaging in social influencer identification,managing local editorial calendar and engagement plan.


**Must haves and Nice to Haves:**


+ Academic degree in Journalism, Marketing orCommunications.

+ Fluent English.

+ 7+ years in the PR/Communications profession, in largeglobal corporate environment and/or public relations agency.

+ Experienced across communications disciplines - bothtraditional and social platforms.

+ Proven external communications and issues managementexperience.

+ Technical aptitude for web-based solutions, socialmedia and emerging technologies.

+ Demonstrated experience in successfully supportingtransformation and change efforts that involve diverse sets of stakeholders.

+ Knowledge and understanding of both traditional andemerging communications channels, including social media and digital platforms.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and to executeand coordinate projects efficiently and effectively; adjust to shiftingpriorities; ability to negotiate priorities with key business leaders.

+ Ability to deliver campaigns that are integratedacross internal/external/digital/social.

+ Outstanding writer and presenter.

+ Successful both as a team player and as an individual.

+ Operationally versatile comfortable with providingadvice to business leaders and day-to-day campaign execution and delivery.

+ Medical industry knowledge preferred, but notessential.
